Primitive Large Red Head Ballerina!

"Franken-Ballerina"

The entire time I was making this doll the Elton John song Tiny Dancer kept going through my head.
I love that song. It reminds me of the very early 70's.
Good times, good times.

Tiny Dancer is 28 inches tall, so she's technically far from being 'tiny'. But her talent for dancing is tiny....she will never be a Prima Donna, but bless her heart, she really tries, doesn't she?

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Yes, Tiny Dancer has a Pirate smile...and she is a seamstress for the band...note the band members behind her.

She's a little depressed, but still tries to smile and keep her chin up. She knows she sucks at dancing, but it's the effort that counts.

Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad

Tiny Dancer has beautiful black thread hair that's been tied in place with red rags and stiffened in the Carolina sun.
Her sad button eyes betray her feelings. But she attempts to smile with her crooked red and white ticking mouth.

Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows, the tune she hums

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can't hear me
When I say softly, slowly

Tiny Dancer carries her rusty star wand with her wherever she goes...singing and humming and dancing. She pretends that her wand will transport her into a magical world of talent....and it just might.

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
you had a busy day today

Tiny Dancer comes onto her imaginary stage and her clumsy legs stand there, unsure of themselves. She carefully ties her beautiful red ribbons on her legs. Soon, the mental song she sings makes her sway to the beat, a soft beat that lulls her into a land that no one can enter but her.

And at that very moment her shapely legs begin to dance. Her beautiful tulle skirt flows with her every movement. Her tight fitting red bodice hugs her body as it stretches to keep up with her school-girl figure. The ribbons around her waist, as well as the ribbon around her neck move with her.

And as she danced she came across a few roses on the floor from the dancers before her. She picked them up and placed them in her ribbon waistband.

In that sweet moment our Tiny Dancer felt like a real dancer...she felt free and expressive.

Just then, Tiny Dancer heard some noise coming from the back of the stage...she then went to the side of the stage and sat herself on a white freezer. She was satisfied.
She shares her private world with no one.
