I love this Mammy doll. I hand-sculpted her face with PaperClay. I then painted it and then went over her face and limbs with several coats of glaze. I love her 'cookie jar' gloss.

She is 17 inches high and has a generous 'butt' so she sits very well. She also has ample breasts with an 'aged' cotton scarf tied across her chest for modesty.

Her cotton dress has a wonderful vintage feel and appearance. It has also been 'aged', along with her pantaloons and 'underdress', and head scarf.

Her hair is made of wool that I bought from a sheep farm in Wisconsin.

Her legs and arms are made with a special technique for making them very hard and heavy. This doll has a GREAT hefty feel to her. I can hold her in my lap all day. I've been a lover and maker of mammy dolls for many years and this doll is by FAR my very favorite. She's also a One Of A Kind.

She's been stuffed firmly, as are all of my dolls. Her legs come down to a point, like a lot of older doll's legs.

She would look great in a kitchen or primitive setting. She looks better sitting down than hanging from a wall, so I didn't put a hang-string on the back of her neck.

When I look at her she reminds me of the mammy in Gone With The Wind.
