'Blue Ribbon Recipes'

Here is another apple dish that I like to make in the winter-time. Sometimes I add a jar of peaches or pears with it, as well.

'Catt's Apple Crisp'

about 8 cups of pared and sliced tart apples

1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup uncooked oats

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon allspice

2/3 cup of softened butter

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees

Arrange apples in a greased pan. Mix remaining dry ingredients in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples. Bake until apples are tender and the topping is a golden brown...about 30 minutes or so. It's good to serve warm. As stated in the above paragraph, you can add a little variety by adding some peaches or pears, or another fruit.

If you have any questions please email me.
